What guides our reading of Scripture
We approach the Bible from a Christ-centered Seventh-day Adventist perspective, with Scripture as the final authority.
Scripture comes first
We receive the Old and New Testaments as the written Word of God and the final standard for doctrine, experience, and Christian practice. We want our conclusions to grow from careful reading rather than from a need to defend a predetermined idea.
Jesus Christ is the center
The red heifer, the sanctuary, prophecy, health reform, and even the writings of Ellen G. White are not ends in themselves. They matter because they help us understand God's character and His work of redemption through Jesus Christ.
We are intentionally Seventh-day Adventist
Our work is shaped by the historic Adventist understanding of creation, the Great Controversy, the law of God and the Sabbath, Christ's ministry in the heavenly sanctuary, the state of the dead, resurrection, judgment, the Second Advent, and the final restoration of creation.
We value the ministry of Ellen G. White
We affirm the Seventh-day Adventist understanding of Ellen G. White's prophetic ministry. We read her writings seriously and prayerfully, while keeping Scripture in its proper place as the standard by which all teaching is tested.
We leave room for humility
Not every question has a simple answer, and not every interpretation carries the same weight. We do not believe faith requires pretending to know what Scripture has not clearly revealed. Where there is room for interpretation, we will say so.
